Guru Dham
-------------------------------------------------
In the year of 1333 (Bangla), Sri Sri Thakur Nigamanada Dev established the “ ASHAN OF JAGAT GURU “ in his own house and named it “ Sri Sri Guru Dham “. Beside this he established a charitable hospital for the welfare of the mass people. Gradually it was turned to a hospital with 31 beds. Then, Sri Sri Nigamananda Biddya Mandir ( English High School ) in the villege Kathuli which was situated on the eastern bank of the river Bhoirab. Still now, it is heardthat the school building consisted of one thousand doors. There were two residential students’ hostel – one for Hindu students and another for Muslim students. In the district of Nadia, there were very few schools of such standard.
In 1319 bangla (1912 AD), 7th of Boishakh, he established central Math in the province of Assam. In 1334 Bangla, He formed a Trust Board for the overall supervision of this Math. All other earned temples and all movable and non-movable properties are considered as the properties of the Trust. Though, the Kokilamukh math was the main office of the Sri sri Thakur, and all the temples were ruled by the Math, the Guru Dham was a independent organization. Sri Sri Thakur said that the Math might be sold but Guru Dham would never been transferred. It’s memory should be protected even by selling the Math. The glory of Guru Dham is on the growth by the great grace and direct power of Sri Sri Thakur.
Though, due to the political matter, Sri Sri Guru Dham has been handed over for the time being, it has been rescued miraculously by Srimat Swami Addaytananda Saraswati with the power of Sri Sri Thakur. From this instance, it has been understood that, the sayings of the predecessors never failed.
So, Sri sri Guru Dham will remain immutable for ever in its own greatness.

Shanti Ashram - Saraswata Math
------------------------------------------------------------------
"This Shanti Ashrama is the result of my lifelong pursuit and endeavor ; when compared with this Ashrama, my life appears to be of little importance—I can sacrifice my life hundred times for the sake of this Ashrama. It is my expectation that from this Ashrama in due course will come out hundreds and hundreds of Nigamanandas. My disciples, you are the preserver of my that Ashrama, and I hope that none of you will neglect this Ashrama, resembling my soulself and thereby will not be the cause of my death. " - Swami Nigamananda
-----------------------------------------------------
Shree Shree Thakur took a plot of land of Jorhat in Sivsagar district and founded an Ashram there on Akshya Tritiya,in the month of Baishakha in 1912.This was called “Shanti Ashram” which went by the name of Assam - Bengal Saraswata Matha in the later years.
Saraswat Math was sheltered in the lap of a formidable , meadow situated within six miles of Jothat . On one side of Math, there was a tribal village and the three sides were covered with jungle growth. Mariyani-Jorhat, light rail-ways, passed through the tribal village up to Kokilamukh. The Himalaya mountain ranges are situated on the north of this place, Udayagiri on the East and Naga hills on the South. The natural beauty of the snow-clad peaks of Himalayas and its endless chain of mountains are visible from this place on the days the sky remains clear. Nageswar flower plants which were planted on the both sides of the Ashram added to the natural beauty of the place.
The Math was surrounded on all sides with various flower plants. The Math had various other activities for which different sections were opened such as library section, charitable dispensary, rest house for the Brahamcharies , printing press , handloom section , school for boys and kitchen and godown . All these sections were housed in different sheds constructed by the Math.
A sight of the Ashram would have given an insight into Ashrams of the ancient days. The surrounding forest and solitude of the place were very congenial for meditation .The Brahamacharies of the Ashram were allotted the job of cattle grazing, collection of fodder of cows including of reading of reading of scriptures and meditation.
-----------------------------------------------------
GLORY OF SARASWAT MATH-:
The divine forces of Guru which turned the Ashram a center of spiritual activities, caused to carry the light of knowledge to various other parts of the country such as Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, Rajputana , Indore , Madhyapradesh , Gujrat . Also people from Burma holding high position in Government circles visited the Math and greatly appreciated its working. Gradually it attracted the attention of the common mass. Devotees frequented the place seeking to realize truth and thus converted in to a place o pilgrimage .The hand-driven printing press was soon replaced by mechanical driven devices and apparatus. Works of Saraswata Grathabali edited by Shree Thakur were published in this press. A religious monthly called "Aryadarpan" continued to be printed here. Besides printing, other crafts such as carpentry, smith shop and handlooms were introduced in the Ashram to enable the institution to be a self-sufficient unit. The Ashram thus turned into a full-fledged institution, which could meet the material needs as well as the spiritual hunger of the aspirants.

PASCHIM BANGLA SARASWAT ASHRAM
(KHARKUSMA, PASCHIM MEDINIPUR, WB)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chandicharan Paul, a villager of Pathartora in Paschim Medinipur, moved to ‘Math’ at Kokilamukh in 1325 and met Sri Sri Thakur and accepted him as his ‘Guru’. Having Returned to his village, he discussed with Prabhakar Chowdhury, member of the noble Chowdhury family of Kharkusma, for the foundation of the Ashram. In the month of Bhadra, 1326, 6 persons including Sri Chandicharan Paul and Sri Prabhakar Chowdhury moved to the house of Phani Mitra at Howrah and there they were initiated by Thakur. Then they took the full initiative in the foundation of Ashram. Sri Prabhakar Babu donated a wide land at the place named ‘Chowdhury’s Aaima’ for this Ashram. While visiting that palce in 1329, Thakur Maharaj approved it for the construction of the Ashram. As that place was rejected for specific reason, an endeavour was made to construct it in the north-western side of Dhannyachara mauza. This was also approved by Sri Sri Thakur. Those who assisted Sri Chandicharan Paul at the beginning of the construction of the Ashram were Sri Prabhakar Chowdhury, Sri Yogendranath Chowdhury, Sri Sivaprasd Chowdhury, Sri Rakhalraj Khanra, Sri Sarat Chandra Mukherjee of Tamluk, Sri Bhimacharan Basu, Sri Hemchandra Ghosh of Howrah, Sri Phani Bhusan Mitra and Jyotindranath Das and others. Sri Prabhakar Babu organised the Bhakta-Sammilani for the year 1333 in this Ashram. But it was a matter of regret that he died in Chaitra in 1332. At the earnest request of the disciples Swami Chidananda Maharaj took the charge of the Ashram before the foundation of this Ashram (from Falgun in 1330). On the 11th Pausa in 1333, on the first day of Bhakta-Sammilani, “the Asan of Jagadguru” was installed with the kind presence of the beloved Thakur.

An endeavor was made to found this Ashram at Kumilla in Mainamati in 1325. In the month of Jaistha, 1327, after the arrival of Kumarananda Maharaj (Swami Atmananda Saraswati) this Ashram became well bloomed as a product of his extreme vigour as well as great devotion. In 1331, “the Asan of Gurubrahma” was installed here. After the division of the country, illiberal attitude of the Govt. forced the shifting of the ashram to Ganespur on 15th Agrahayan, 1359. Again this Ashram was shifted to Dwajanagar near Bihsalgarh in Tripura on 29th Jaistha, 1371.

Jamindar Kumar Gurucharan Deb Raikat, inhabitant of Padamati Village in Jalpaiguri district, made an endeavour for instituting a Ashram at his locality after noticing the work culture of the ‘Math’. And he prayed to Thakur for his kind approval. After getting a yes, he started the construction at village Jorpakri. But Thakur disliked the place by observing that it was in the locality. Hence at Dangapara, 3 miles far from that palce the Ashram was instituted on the 6 acres purchased land. Having been finished the construction, Sri Sri Thakur came here at the invitation of Sri Gurucharan Babu on 17th Baisakh, 1337. And next day, on 18th Baisakh, on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya Thakur installed “the Asan of Gurubrahma”.
